How intercity matching works

For trips of roughly 40 km or more, Pool matches by city rather than by distance between pins. Searching Lahore to Islamabad returns listings running that corridor even when your pickup is not near the owner’s.

That is deliberate: on a four-hour drive, a few kilometres at either end is a detail the two of you can settle, not a reason to hide the ride.

What to agree before a long trip

Where exactly you join the car, and where you are dropped. On the motorway route the difference between a city-centre pickup and an interchange is an hour of your day.

Whether the price includes the motorway toll, and who pays it.

Luggage. A seat is a seat; a seat plus two suitcases is a different conversation, and worth having before the day.

Whether they are coming back, and when. Many intercity drivers return within a day or two, and that return leg is searchable on Pool in its own right.

Availability is uneven

Intercity listings cluster around weekends and holidays. A Friday evening towards Islamabad or a Sunday evening back towards Lahore has far more cars than a Tuesday morning. Search a day either side before concluding the route is empty.
